Abstract
An age-hardenable alloy providing low base hardness but high strength on aging excellent weldability and very good mechanical workability, consists of Ni 35-46% Cr 12-20%, Ti 1.25-2.5% (Ti + Nb) 4%, Al 0.005-1.0%, B 0.0005-0.005%, C =0.08% and the balance Fe and impurities. The alloy is relatively soft as annealed, and provides a good transverse ductility when hot-worked and age-hardened. This alloy may be easily hot or cold worked and then aged at a temp. of 593-760 degrees C or annealed at a temp. of 927-1094 degrees C.
