Abstract

Device consists of an inlet duct supplied with air by a blower, at the end of which is arranged an array of parallel orifices in the form of slots, which are formed by the spaces between the flanges of a row of angle members of L-shaped cross-section. These are positioned so that the flanges are inclined to the direction of flow in the duct and air from them is directed on to moving web at an angle, enabling drying without risk of tearing.
