Abstract

Four ram hydraulic hot forging machine for the forging of rods and bars has the rams offset at 90 degrees relative to each other, two being horizontal and two vertical. In the cross shaped housing the piston rods are attached to the housing, whilst the cylinders form the rams to the end of which the forging saddles are fitted. The saddles of each opposite pairs of rams are offset by a distance which must be at least equal to the saddle width.
