Abstract

Process: Cysteine-contng. peptides and derivs. may be prepd. by reacting a peptide with at least one cysteine-molecule as building block, of formula (I) with a strong acid to form a salt of the sec. amine of formula (II). Adding a base and opt. warming gives then the free amine R = methyl or ethyl Z = benzyloxycarbonyl (Z); tert. butyloxycarbonyl (BOC) or adamantyloxycarbonyl (ADOC). The cpds. (IV) may be used as therapeutic agents or as intermediates in the prepn. of other peptides such as desaminooxytocin or insulin etc.
