Abstract

The sulphenamide (I) of formula: and its sulphinamide deriv. (II) are new cpds. used as vulcanisation accelerators for 5-vulcanisable synthetic and natural rubbers. Cpd. (I) may be prepd. by known methods and (II) may be obtained in good yield by treating a suspension of (I) in heterogeneous aqs. medium with sodium hypochlorite at 30 degrees C in the presence of alkaline agents, pref. sodium (bi)carbonate.
