Abstract

Complexes of silver and organic compounds useful in photographic development. M3B. Developing agent (I) for use in physical photographic development of a latent image formed in a photosensitive metal salt composition, consists of a stable organometallic complex, pref. of silver, which is prepared from an organic compound selected from thioamides, compds. contg. a guanyl group, mercapto-acids, alkynes, hydroxyalkylcarboxylic acids, hydroxyheterocyclocarboxylic acids, cmpds. contg. thioalkyl groups, oxalic acid, succinic acid, phenylenedioxydialkylcarboxylic acids, and polymers contg. an atom of the ligand type which can form a metallic complex useful for physical development. The developing agent permits the advantageous development of photosensitive compositions contg. a dyestuff which has the property of forming active development centres on exposure to light. Very stable silver images are formed by the developing agent.
