Abstract
The interlayer is also hot-sprayed. The pre-sprayed strip is preheated to 177-232 degrees C and is then hot-sprayed from a gun fed with Al-clad tin wire. Consolidating is carried out by rolling and heat treating at 300-350 degrees C. The pref. alloy composition is: 79 wt.% Al, 20 wt.% tin, and 1 wt.% Cu. Thickness of coating is 0.10-0.63 mm, and of interlayer 0.025 mm. The strip is given a preliminary cleaning by degreasing with trichloroethylene and grit blasting. The strips are used in storage containers.
