Abstract

Describes a preliminary treatment to be carried out before aluminium is deposited on metallic bases from non-aqueous solutions. The metal is first cleaned in a suitable aqueous solution, and then this solution eliminated in a solvent bath. The metal is then exposed to a solution of a fatty acid in a solvent which is miscible also with water and with the solvent bath. While the metal is still immersed in the fatty acid it is brought in contact with the non-aqueous aluminium solution for deposition.
