The object of the present invention is to overcome these drawbacks. To this end, it relates to an improvement to vacuum cleaners, according to which on the one hand, the filter-bag is held rigidly in its opening plane, and, on the other hand, elastically tensioned by spring means, the filter bag and the dust container forming a self-contained assembly.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the filter bag is equipped, internally, with a helical spring, the winding diameter of which is substantially equal to its own, and to which it is fixed in its opening plane, by a ferrule crimped on one of the ends of this spring, the airtight fixing of the filter bag to the dust container being ensured by the application under pressure of the aforementioned ferrule on a seal arranged at one end of the re dust container While a bar attached radially to the other end of this container, hand holds the spring of the filter bag slightly compressed.
