Dans ce cas, le combiné 5 a la forme d'une tablette montée sur la planche de bord 3 qui peut être articulée à sa base sur un axe horizontal afin qu'elle puisse être orientée suivant le souhait du conducteur. Des commandes classiques de type comodo 6 sont disposées sur la colonne de direction 7. Sur un véhicule découvrable, le combiné 5 et les commandes de comodo 6 sont exposées aux intempéries, il est donc nécessaire de les protéger efficacement pour assurer leur bon fonctionnement dans la durée à l'aide d'une housse 14 représentée en traits interrompus court. Le logement 2 est situé à proximité de la base du pare-brise 8, il est orienté suivant la longueur de la planche de bord, parallèlement au pare-brise. Le logement comporte un couvercle 9. La vue agrandie suivant la flèche F de la figure 1, montre que le couvercle 9 est encastré dans le logement 2. La face supérieure de son couvercle 9 représenté en traits interrompus courts vient affleurer à la surface de la planche de bord 3. Un système push pull 19 permet d'en ouvrir le couvercle 9 par un appui sur sa face supérieure. Le couvercle 9 peut s'ouvrir manuellement ou automatiquement à l'aide d'un ressort de torsion 10 placé sur l'axe de la charnière 11. Deux agrafes 12 possédant un col de cygne sont placées puis fixées sur une paroi verticale ou de fond, et à chacune des extrémités du logement 2. Une barre cylindrique 13 ayant la longueur du logement vient se clipper dans le col de cygne des agrafes 12. Une housse 14 est fixée sur la barre cylindrique 13 un moyen de préhension 16 matérialisé par l'intermédiaire d'anneaux 15 ou directement par le bord de la housse 14 en formant une boucle tubulaire cousue sur toute sa longueur ou par intervalle, enfilée sur ladite barre cylindrique 13. La housse 14 est repliée sur elle-même dans l'espace du logement 2. L'extrémité libre 16 de la housse 14 se trouve au-dessus afin d'être aisément préhensible. On comprend qu'en cas de besoin, le conducteur tire l'extrémité libre 16 de la housse 14 pour la déployer et recouvrir prestement le combiné 5 et les commandes de comodo 6 et le volant 4 de direction du véhicule. La barre cylindrique 13 est maintenue par les deux agrafes 12 placées à chacune des extrémités du logement. Des anneaux 15 enfilés sur la barre cylindrique 13 sont cousus sur l'extrémité de la housse 14 pour la maintenir et l'étendre sur la longueur de la barre cylindrique 13. La housse est fabriquée dans une matière souple et imperméable pour protéger le poste de pilotage des intempéries tel que la pluie et reflétant le rayonnement solaire pour éviter un réchauffement considérable de la planche de bord 3 et du volant 4. Avantageusement, les ouvertures des agrafes 12 sont orientées à l'inverse du sens de déploiement de la housse 14 de manière à obtenir un ancrage robuste de la barre cylindrique 13.
