Abstract

Polyacrylonitrile is modified by the addition of a copolymer of acrylonitrile with butadiene, isoprene or isobutylene, the ratio of the components in the copolymer preferably being 1 : 1. The composition preferably comprises 70 to 98 per cent polyacrylonitrile and 30-2 per cent copolymer and may be spun into dye-receptive fibres from solution in dimethyl formamide.
