Claims (17)

1. Menetelmä muodostuvien polymeeripartikkelien kokojakauman kontrolloimiseksi vesipitoista polymeeridispersiota valmistettaessa, käsittäen 5. aikaansaadaan vesipitoinen tärkkiliuos, joka käsittää - (a) 10 - 40 painoprosenttia tärkkiä tai muuta, vapaan hydroksyyliryhmän sisältävää polysakkaridia, - polymeroidaan tärkkiliuoksessa vesiliukoisen oksastusaktiivisen redox-systeemin läsnä ollessa 10 - (b) 30 - 60 painoprosenttia ainakin yhtä mahdollisesti substituoitua styreeniä, - (c) 60 - 30 painoprosenttia ainakin yhtä C1 - C4 alkyyli (met)akrylaattia, - (d) 0 - 10 painoprosenttia muita kopolymerisoitavissa olevia eteenityydyttämättömiä monomeereja, 15 jolloin summa (a)+(b)+(c)+(d) on 100 %, tunnettu siitä, että kontrolloidaan muodostuneiden polymeeripartikkelien kokojakaumaa säätämällä tärkkiliuoksen viskositeettia ennen polymerointia tasolle < 20 mPas, mitattuna 23 Oissa käyttäen Brookfield LVDV viskometria karalla 18, 60 rpm. 20
2. Vaatimuksen 1 mukainen menetelmä, tunnettu siitä, että säädetään tärkkiliuoksen viskositeetti ennen polymerointia tasolle < 15 mPas, edullisemmin < 10 mPas, mitattuna 23 Oissa käyttäen Brookfield LV DV viskometria karalla 18, 60 CO -r- rpm. o ™ 25 CVJ
° 3. Vaatimuksen 1 tai 2 mukainen menetelmä, tunnettu siitä, että suoritetaan r». tärkkiliuoksen viskositeetin säätö säätämällä ennen polymerointia tärkkiliuoksen * pH < 2,5, edullisemmin < 2,3. CD CO O c\j 30
4. Vaatimuksen 1, 2 tai 3 mukainen menetelmä, tunnettu siitä, että suoritetaan O c\j tärkkiliuoksen viskositeetin säätö säätämällä ennen polymerointia tärkkiliuoksen kuiva-ainepitoisuus < 35 painoprosenttia, edullisesti < 30 painoprosenttia, edullisemmin < 25 painoprosenttia.
5. Jonkin edeltävän vaatimuksen 1 - 4 mukainen menetelmä, tunnettu siitä, että suoritetaan tärkkiliuoksen viskositeetin säätö valitsemalla tärkki, joka on anioninen tärkkijohdannainen, edullisesti anioninen perunatärkkijohdannainen, jonka viskositeetti on < 10 mPas, edullisesti < 8 mPas, kuiva-aineessa 15 %, mitattuna 5 80 Oissa käyttäen Brookfield LVDV viskometria kara Ma 18, 60 rpm.
6. Jonkin edeltävän vaatimuksen 1 - 5 mukainen menetelmä, tunnettu siitä, että vetyperoksidin ja rauta(ll)suolan yhdistelmää käytetään vesiliukoisena oksastusaktiivisena redox-systeeminä. 10
7. Vaatimuksen 6 mukainen menetelmä, tunnettu siitä, että rauta(ll)suolaa käytetään konsentraatiossa 3 - 200 mg Fe(ll) ionia/l, edullisesti 5 - 45 mg Fe(ll) ionia/l, edullisemmin 8 - 18 mg Fe(ll) ionia/l, koko dispersioon perustuen.
8. 10. Vaatimuksen 8 tai 9 mukainen vesipitoinen polymeeridispersio, tunnettu siitä, että polymeeridispersiossa polymeeripartikkeleilla on D(50) arvo < 70 nm, edullisesti < 65 nm, edullisemmin < 60 nm, ja D(99) arvo < 160 nm, edullisesti < 150 nm, edullisemmin < 130 nm.
11. Vaatimuksen 10 mukainen vesipitoinen polymeeridispersio, tunnettu siitä, että D(50) arvo on välillä 45 - 70 nm, edullisesti 45 - 60 nm, edullisemmin 45 - 55 nm.
12. Vaatimuksen 10 tai 11 mukainen vesipitoinen polymeeridispersio, tunnettu siitä, että D(99) arvo on välillä 100 - 160 nm, edullisesti 110 - 140 nm, 15 edullisemmin 115 - 135 nm.
13. Jonkin edeltävän vaatimuksen 8 - 12 mukainen vesipitoinen polymeeridispersio, tunnettu siitä, että tärkki on anioninen tärkkijohdannainen, edullisesti anioninen perunatärkkijohdannainen, jonka viskositeetti on < 10 mPas, 20 edullisesti < 8 mPas, kuiva-aineessa 15 %, mitattuna 80 Oissa käyttäen Brookfield LVDV viskometria karalla 18, 60 rpm.
