Abstract
For the production of the electrical insulation for the windings in an electric motor in accordance with the vacuum-pressure procedure: before the windings are placed in the grooves 6 in the stator or rotor, the grooves are coated with a laminate 5 which contains in at least one laminate layer a flexibly-compressed mass which is made of particularly flexible electrically-insulating fibres and a hardened thermo-setting synthetic resin, which can still be made to soften with heat and which holds the fibre mass in its compressed state. After the windings have been positioned and the grooves 6 have been sealed, the stator or the rotor is subjected to a vacuum-pressure impregnation with subsequent heat treatment in an oven. In conjunction with the impregnation, the hot impreg- nating resin also permeates the pores of the flexibly- expansible laminate. In this way, the synthetic resin is made to melt whereupon the fibre mass expands flexibly and the intermediate spaces lying alongside in the groove are evenly filled. <IMAGE>
