CONSISTE EN EL CULTIVO DE UN MICROORGANISMO, TAL COMO LA ESPECIE GLUCONOBACTER OXYDANS, EN UN MEDIO SINTETICO QUE CONTIENE ACETATO AMONICO COMO FUENTE DE NITROGENO, FUENTE DE CARBONO Y SALES MINERALES, EN EL QUE LA CONCENTRACION DE OXIGENO DISUELTO SE CONTROLA EN EL INTERVALO DE 1 A 4 PPM, MEDIANTE AIREACION FORZADA, A UNA TEMPERATURA PROXIMA A 30GC. ESTE COMPUESTO TIENE APLICACIONES COMO INTERMEDIO PARA LA SINTESIS DE LA VITAMINA C.
