PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA OBTENCION DEL DERIVADO N-METILADO DE LA 11-AZA-10-DESOXO-10-DIHIDROERITROMICINA A, DE FORMULA (I). CONSISTE EN LA REACCION DE N-METILACION DEL COMPUESTO DE FORMULA (I) CON YODURO DE METILO. LA N-METILACION SE LLEVA A CABO EN UN DISOLVENTE ORGANICO INERTE, COMO CLORURO DE METILENO, CLOROFORMO O TETRAHIDROFURANO, EN PRESENCIA DE UNA BASE INORGANICA COMO ACEPTOR DE ACIDOS, A UNA TEMPERATURA PROXIMA A LA AMBIENTE. ESTE COMPUESTO TIENE APLICACIONES FARMACOLOGICAS COMO AGENTE ANTIBACTERIANO CONTRA MICROORGANISMOS GRAM-POSITIVOS.
