CONSISTE EN UN MATERIAL BASE QUE FUNDE A TEMPERATURA ELEVADA Y EN EL QUE ESTA PRESENTE UN MATERIAL EMISIVO EN FORMA DE OXIDO METALICO, EL CUAL SE REDUCE CONTINUAMENTE DURANTE EL FUNCIONAMIENTO DEL CATODO Y EL METAL SE DIFUNDE A LA SUPERFICIE EN FORMA ATOMICA Y FORMA ALLI UNA PELI CULA MONOATOMICA. SE EMPLEA DIBORANO (B2H6) COMO COMPUESTO GASEOSO DE BORO. COMPRENDE LAS SIGUIENTES FASES: A) LIMPIAR EL CATODO POR RECOCIDO EN UNA ATMOSFERA QUE CONTIENE HIDROGENO; B) CALENTAR EL CATODO EN UNA ATMOSFERADE GAS QUE CONTIENE UN COMPUESTO DE BORO GASEOSO (B2H6) HASTA QUE SE DEPOSITE BORO EN EL CATODO; C) CALENTAR EL CATODO BAJO VACIO O EN UNA ATMOSFERA NO REACTIVA HASTA LA TEMPERATURA DE FUNCIONAMIENTO DEL CATODO (600-700JC) Y MANTENER DICHA TEMPERATURA DURANTE UN TIEMPO TAL (C5 MINUTOS) QUE SE FORME UN BORURO DEL MATERIAL BASICO.
