EL PROCEDIMIENTO SE CARACTERIZA PORQUE SE RECURRE A LA CATALISIS HETEROGENEA MEDIANTE LA PUESTA EN CONTACTO DE POR LO MENOS UN MONOMERO GASEOSOS EN LAS CONDICIONES DE REACCION, CON UN CATALIZADOR SOLIDO, EN UNA ZONA DE POLIMERIZACION AGITADA; PORQUE SE UTILIZA UNA ZONA DE POLIMERIZACION DELIMITADA POR UNA PARED ESFERICA; Y PORQUE SE REALIZA LA AGITACION CON LA AYUDA DE UN CONJUNTO DE TURBINA CON PALAS, ARRASTRADAS EN ROTACION. LAS PARTICULAS DE CATALIZADOR, ASI COMO EL POLVO DE POLIMERO EN CRECIMIENTO, SON ARRASTRADOS POR LA FUERZA CENTRIFUGA SOBRE UNA PARTE DE LA SUPERFICIE ESFERICA Y CAEN DE NUEVO EN LA ZONA CENTRAL DE DICHA SUPERFICIE ESFERICA.
