ELIMINACION DEL MERCURIO EN LOS GASES SULFUROSOS CALIENTES Y HUMEDOS ESPECIALMENTE LOS PROCEDENTES DE PLANTAS DE CALCINACION O DE FUNDICION O DE GASES PROCEDENTES DE UN FILTRO ELECTRICO. LOS GASES SULFUROSOS HUMEDOS Y CALIENTES SE ENFRIAN PULVERIZANDOLOS CON AGUA O CON UNA DISOLUCION DILUIDA DE ACIDO SULFURICO DE FORMA QUE LA TEMPERATURA DE LOS GASES DESCIENDA POR DEBAJO DE SU PUNTO DE ROCIO PARA PRODUCIR UNA NIEBLA DE ACIDO SULFURICO QUE SULFATA Y LAVA AL MERCURIO. LOS GASES SE SEPARAN DE LA NIEBLA Y SE DIRIGEN A LA PLANTA DE ACIDO SULFURICO.
