Abstract

PURPOSE: To purify a waste gas in an extremely simple apparatus with high economical efficiency by spraying and mixing a reactive solution in the waste gas introduced into a direct reaction tower.
CONSTITUTION: In the waste gas directly introduced into a reaction tower 3 from an inlet 2 through a predetermined apparatus, for example, a reactive solution comprising an aqueous caustic soda solution with a concn. of about 10% is sprayed from two fluid nozzles 6. In said reaction tower 3, harmful gas is absorbed in the reactive solution and passed through a region 7 along with the waste gas while suspended therein to be fallen through an evaporator 3. During the process of this suspension falling, moisture in the reactive solution is rapidly evaporated by the heat of the waste gas and the formed reaction products are formed into solid particles in the vicinity of a region 8 and the succeeding cyclone separator 9 to be separated and recovered and the purified waste gas is discharged from the outlet 15 thereof.
