CONSISTE EN SUMERGIR EL SUSTRATO DE UN ELECTROLITO ACUOSO ACIDO DE CROMO TRIVALENTE EN CONCENTRACION 0,2-0,8% MOLAR, QUE CONTIENE ADEMAS UN AGENTE COMPLEJANTE, IONES HALURO Y AMONIO, UN REGULADOR DE PH PARA MANTENERLO ENTRE 2,5 Y 5,5, Y UN AGENTE REDUCTOR, CONSTITUIDO POR IONES VANADIO; Y APLICAR UNA CARGA CATODICA PARA REDUCIR LOS IONES CROMO A CROMO METALICO HASTA OBTENER UN DEPOSITO DE ESPESOR DESEADO. TIENE APLICACIONES PARA RECUBRIMIENTOS PROTECTORES Y DECORATIVOS SOBRE SUSTRATOS METALICOS.
