PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA PREPARACION DE ACIDO SILICICO DE PRECIPITACION QUE CONTIENE CERIO. SE PARTE DE UNA CARGA ACUOSA CON UN PH ENTRE 7 Y 8,5 QUE SE AJUSTA AÑADIENDO, POR EJEMPLO, UNA SOLUCION DE VIDRIO SOLUBLE CON UNA PROPORCION MOLAR DE OXIDO SILICICO A OXIDO SODICO DE 1:3,40. SE LE AÑADEN, AL MISMO TIEMPO, CON APLICACION DE FUERZAS DE CIZALLA DURA, UNASOLUCION DE VIDRIO SOLUBLE Y UN ACIDO, COMO ACIDO SULFURICO, DURANTE 80-120 MINUTOS A TEMPERATURA DESDE 50 C. HASTA EL PUNTO DE EBULLICION. EL PH SE MANTIENE CONSTANTE HASTA FINALIZAR LA PRECIPITACION. SE AÑADE UNA SOLUCION ACUOSA DE UNA SAL DE CERIO (IV) TETRAHIDRATADO. SE AJUSTA EL PH DE LA SOLUCION RESULTANTE ENTRE 6 Y 8, AÑADIENDO CONTINUAMENTE CON AGITACION UNA LEJIA DE SOSA ACUOSA AL 15-20 POR 100 EN PESO. SE FILTRA Y SE LICUA, SE SECA POR ATOMIZACION Y SE MUELE LA TORTA DE FILTRACION APLICANDO FUERZAS DE CIZALLADURA. SE UTILIZA EN LA PREPARACION DE MASAS ENDURECIBLES PARA FORMAR ELASTOMEROS, EN PARTICULAR MATERIAL AISLANTE PARA CABLES.
