Abstract
1516554 Plasticized sulphur compositions CHEVRON RESEARCH CO 3 Dec 1975 [3 Dec 1974 13 Nov 1975] 49736/75 Heading C5W A composition comprises from 50 to 98 weight percent of sulphur, from 0À05 to 25 weight percent of a sulphur plasticizer and from 1 to 40 weight percent of mica, based on the total composition. The term 'mica' means a layered silicate having an X-ray diffraction pattern d spacing of 9À6 to 10À1 A. A particular composition comprises dicyclopentadiene as sulphur plasticizer and further comprises glass fibre. Talc, asbestos or expanded silica may also be present.
