SE FUNDAMENTA EN HACER PASAR UNA SOLUCION DE ACRILONITRILO, AGUA E IMPUREZAS A TRAVES DE UNA COLUMNA DE DESTILACION BAJO VACIO, EN DONDE EL ACRILONITRILO PURIFICADO ES SEPARADO EN FORMA DE UNA CORRIENTE SECUNDARIA EN ESTADO DE VAPOR. DICHA CORRIENTE SECUNDARIA PUEDE CONDENSARSE POSTERIORMENTE MEDIANTE INTERCAMBIO DE CALOR INDIRECTO. DE EMPLEO EN LA ETAPA FINAL DE PURIFICACION DEL ACRILONITRILO OBTENIDO EN REACCION DE AMONOXIDACION DEL PROPILENO.
