SE CARACTERIZA POR LLEVAR A CABO LA OXIDACION A UNA TEMPERATURA COMPRENDIDA ENTRE -30GC A -90GC EN UN MEDIO QUE CONTIENE COMO DISOLVENTE ORGANICO UN DISOLVENTE ORGANICO INMISCIBLE CON AGUA, SE AJUSTA EL PH DE LA MEZCLA DE REACCION A UN VALOR COMPRENDIDO ENTRE 8 Y 10. PARTIENDO DE LA FASE ORGANICA SE ACILAN LOS COMPONENTES DE LA MEZCLA DE PRODUCTOS OBTENIDA, QUE PUEDEN SER N-DESMETIL-VIMBLASTINA, VINCRISTINA Y, OPCIONALMENTE, EL COMPUESTO DESIGNADO <<RHG-4451>>.
