1339244 Alkyl amides STAUFFER CHEMICAL CO 4 May 1972 [25 June 1971] 20746/72 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds having the general Formula (I) wherein R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP>, which may be the same or different, are halogen atoms or alkyl groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R<SP>3</SP> is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R<SP>4</SP> and R<SP>5</SP>, which may be the same or different, are hydrogen atoms or alkyl groups having 1 to 3 carbon atoms. They may be prepared by reacting a compound of the Formula (II) with a compound having the Formula (III) The compounds of the invention may be used as active ingredients in herbicidal compositions.
