Abstract

Método de tratamiento térmico de artículos ferrosos que consiste en: introducir una fuente de carbono gaseoso y un gas de soporte inerte en un horno de tratamiento térmico conteniendo artículos ferrosos que han de ser tratados térmicamente en una atmósfera de horno conteniendo monóxido de carbono, caracterizado porque: se determina la cantidad de monóxido de carbono contenida en la atmósfera del horno, y se controla la circulación del gas de soporte inerte en el horno para mantener la cantidad de monóxido de carbono de la atmósfera del horno inferior aproximadamente al 3% en volumen, con el fin de controlar el potencial de carbono manteniéndolo en el nivel deseado mediante la minimización del efecto de las reacciones de equilibrio.
