Abstract

Procedimiento para la fabricación de metilolmelaminas sustancialmente monómeras, eterificadas con metilo, que contienen por mol de melanina arriba de 5 moles de formaldehído y arriba de 4 moles de grupos metilol eterificados con metilo y que con un contenido de sólidos de por lo menos 95% en peso a 25ºC tienen una viscosidad inferior a 20 Pa.s, caracterizado porque la melamina se somete a metilolación con una solución acuosa de formalina que contiene entre 30 y 50% en peso de formaldehído y que ha sido ajustada a un pH de ó, 7 a 7, 3 en una relación molar de 1: 6,5 a 1: 8 durante 1-1/2 a 5 horas a 50 - 85º C y la suspensión así obtenida de metilolmelamina se eterifica con 15 a 30 moles de metanol por mol de melamina a temperaturas comprendidas entre 30 y 60ºC en presencia de un ácido fuerte.
