Abstract

Un método de ensayo para determinar la presencia en una muestra de un analito que es un miembro de un par fijante específico que consta de un ligando y su receptor homólogo, empleando en dicho método (a) un medio acuoso continuo, (b) partículas sólidas dispersables discretas a las que está conjugado uno de los miembros de dicho par para dar un conjugado de partícula, definiendo dicho conjugado de partícula un medio ambiente alrededor de dicho miembro conjugado de dicho par diferente de dicho medio acuoso © un sistema productor de señal capaz de producir una señal medible, estando afectado el nivel de dicha señal por el grado en que dicho sistema productor de señal está dentro del medio ambiente de dichas partículas, (d) estando al menos un miembro de dicho sistema productor de señal conjugado a un miembro del para dar un conjugado de marcador de señal, en que la cantidad de conjugado de marcador de señal unido a dicho conjugado de partícula está relacionada con la cantidad de analito endicho medio acuoso, método que comprende: combinar en un medio acuoso de determinación (a) dicha muestra (b) dicho conjugado de partícula dispersado de modo sustancialmente uniforme en dicho medio © dicho conjugado de marcador de señal, (d) el miembro homólogo de dicho par fijante específico, siendo el analito, el conjugado de partícula y el conjugado de marcado de señal el mismo miembro del par fijante específico, y (e) cualquier miembro restante de dicho sistema productor de señal con la condición de que cuando el analito es un primer receptor, dicho miembro de dicho par conjugado a dicha partícula puede ser el ligando homólogo o receptor de dicho primer receptor, y dicho miembro de dicho conjugado de marcador de señal puede ser receptor para dicho primer receptor o el ligando homólogo respectivamente, y determinar el nivel de dicha señal en comparación con el medio de determinación que tiene una cantidad conocida de analito.
