Abstract
Un procedimiento para escarpar termoquímicamente una pieza de trabajo de metal, que comprende: precalentar un lugar de la superficie de la pieza en que ha de comenzar la reacción de escarpado dirigiendo una llama de precalentamiento de mezcla posterior a dicha lugar, formándose dicha llama de precalentamiento a) descargando por lo menos una corriente de gas oxidante de precalentamiento y al menos una corriente de gas combustible de precalentamiento desde lumbreras separadas de tal modo que dichas corrientes incidan fuera de sus lumbreras de descarga, encima de la superficie de trabajo, y de tal modo que los ejes de dichas corrientes formen un ángulo agudo incluido entre ellos, y b) estabilizar dicha llama de precalentamiento descargando una corriente de baja intensidad de gas oxidante, estando la dirección de dicha corriente estabilizadora en la misma dirección general que la dirección de dicha llama y próxima al lugar de incidencia de dichas corrientes de gas oxidante de precalentamiento yde gas combustible de precalentamiento.
