Abstract
Un fusible cortacircuito térmico, que comprende, en combinación, una caja de alojamiento que posee un par de electrodos incorporados opuestos entre sí, una pequeña masa de carga térmica formulada para fundirse a una temperatura prefijada y dispuesta en el interior de la caja de alojamiento, y un contactor elástico provisto de una pluralidad de contactos elevados proyectados hacia fuera y adaptados de manera que, mientras la pequeña masa de carga térmica mantiene su estado sólido, el contactor retiene su continuidad eléctrica con los dos electrodos presionando contra éstos los contactos elevados y, cuando la pequeña maza de carga térmica alcanza la temperatura predeterminada, se funde y adopta un estado líquido y consecuentemente disminuye en volumen, con lo cual el contactor es liberado de la presión ejercida por dicha pequeña maza y por consiguiente puede recuperar su forma original en virtud de su propia elasticidad e interrumpir la referida continuidad eléctrica.
