Abstract

Procedimiento para la protección de vainas de varillas de combustible de reactor nuclear, de aleación de zirconio, contra el ataque de productos de fisión radioactivos, en particular yodo, caracterizado porque las vainas se someten a una temperatura de 300 a 500ºC a una presión interna tal que, en dependencia con su dimensionado geométrico, se deformen en la zona elástica hasta cerca del límite de fluencia y durante este estado reacciona un medio, introducido en el interior de la vaina previamente, con la cantidad interna de la vaina para la formación de una capa protectora.
