Abstract

Un procedimiento para la preparación de artículos configurados de poliéster constituido esencialmente por unidades repetidas de las siguientes fórmulas: **(Fórmula)** y opcionalmente, hasta 10 moles por ciento de otras unidades formadoras de poliéster aromáticas o cicloalifáticas; cuyo procedimiento comprende someter a reacción de polimerización en estado fundido, preferiblemente en condiciones anhidras y en atmósfera inerte, fenilhidroquinona y ácido tereftálico o sus derivados funcionalmente equivalentes y, opcionalmente, los reactivos comonoméricos correspondientes o sus derivados funcionalmente equivalentes y proseguir la polimerización hasta que el poliéster ha adquirido un peso molecular suficiente para la formación de fibras, y configurar el poliéster así obtenido para darle la forma deseada de fibra, filme o barra moldeada.
