Abstract

Procedure for preparing 6-phenyl-1,2,4-triazolo [4,3-b] -pyridazines, of formula ** formula ** wherein R1, R2 and R3 are individually chosen from hydrogen and alkyl having up to 3 atoms carbon and R4 is hydrogen and alkyl having up to 3 carbon atoms and R4 is hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, cyano, trifluoromethyl, nitro, amino, acetamido, carbamoyl, thiocarbamoyl or alkyl having up to 4 carbon atoms, with the condition that at least some of R1 and R2 is hydrogen, characterized in that it comprises reacting a compound of formula ** formula ** wherein R1, R2 and R4 are defined as above, with a compound of formula ** formula * * where R3 is defined as above, in a lower alkanol as a solvent, at its reflux temperature, for a period of time sufficient for a substantial degree of ring closure to occur, provided that at least one of R1 and R2 is hydrogen.
