Abstract

Refinements introduced into a keyboard system of the type having a plurality of electrical switches arranged in a predetermined design, each of said switches including an elastic conductive element having at least a portion normally in contact with a conductive path located below and a second portion capable of moving with respect to said first portion in order to selectively contact a second conductive path located below, the improvements of which include: a) a integrally molded keyboard member whose inner surface is adapted to be placed on top of said switch design ; b) that said keyboard member has a plurality of integrally configured keys defined therein, each key having a button portion projecting above the outer surface of said keyboard member, and each key also having a pendant portion to be applied to the second movable portion of an associated conductive element of one of the electrical switches; c) that each of said keys is integrally connected with said keyboard member by a chamela self-articulating portion defined by a reduced thickness, laterally extending zone of said keyboard member; and d) an intermediate lever portion of each of said keys integrally connecting to said hinge portion with a laterally extending side of said button portion, whereby said key is easily deflected by pushing on said button.
