Abstract
Procedure for the decolourization of concentrated solutions of cumene hydroperoxide, in cumene, comprising from 60 to 75% by weight of hydroperoxide, obtained by washing with water or with an alkaline aqueous solution, and then concentration by partial distillation of the cumene of the oxidate that results from the oxidation of cumene with oxygen or a gas that contains it, characterized in that said concentrated cumene hydroperoxide solution is treated at a temperature between 50 and 110ºC by an alkaline agent at a rate of 0.001 to 2% in weight in relation to the peroxidic solution.
