Abstract

The coupling valve has the air duct closed off by a spring loaded valve element whose trailer side has a shaft which extends into the coupling. When the trailer brake hose is attached, a spring loaded ring is pressed into the coupling so that the edge of the ring pushes the shaft downwards and tilts the valve. This opens the valve with a minimum of effort. The valve seat is formed by a ring of plastic, with a vertical groove to guide the movement of the shaft. The spring for the valve element is located on a ring insert inside the air duct.
