Abstract

1317300 Valves DAVIES & METCALFE Ltd 26 Oct 1971 [27 Oct 1970] 50884/70 Heading F2V In a lift valve the closure member has a stem 12 and a disc-like head 11 which is snap-fitted into a recess of a resilient rubber facing 15 having a flange 16 which engages behind the head 11. A vent passage 13 passes through the head. In relaxed condition the front wall of the facing is inwardly curved. In modifications the flange 16 is formed with a forwardly facing annular peripheral extension (22) which fits into an annular recess in the head, or an inwardly sloping internal surface (20) which engages with a complementary surface on the head. In another embodiment wherein the facing is not so resilient flange 16 is formed by two diametrically chordal segments and the head is similarly relieved so that it may be inserted into the recess and turned to engage below the segments.
