Abstract

An electrical connector housing 1 has an opening at one end for receiving the end of an electron tube 30 and at its opposite end a plurality of cavities 3 for receiving terminals 20 attached to conductors 35, the front end of each cavity having an aperture for admitting a pin 32 of the electron tube for engagement with the terminals and each cavity communicating with a channel defined by pairs of ribs 8 and being open at its forward end remote from cavity and extending along the outside of the housing for receiving an electrical component 34. The housing is substantially frustoconical and the opening is provided with an outwardly extending flange 9, key-hole slots 10 being formed in the flange between adjacent pair of ribs so that a conductor attached to a component can be fitted. The smaller end of the housing is provided with a locating slot (5), (Fig. 1, not shown), to co-operate with a locating tongue on the tube. Each cavity 3 is formed with a pair of shoulders 18, 19, Fig. 1 (not shown), for retaining the terminals. In another embodiment of the housing, Fig. 4 (not shown), an aperture is provided between two pairs of ribs, through which a tab on the tube can project for connection with an earthing receptacle container. The terminal 20 consists of a ferrule for crimping to a wire and has extensions formed with indents (29, Fig. 3, not shown) arranged to receive a pin 32 of the tube.
