Abstract
Automatic recoil-operated barrel, which comprises (a) a receiver provided with an ammunition feeding station, (b) a tube mounted for reciprocating axial movement in said receiver in front of the ammunition feeding station (c) a bolt disposed in axial alignment with the tube, (d) a bolt support adapted to move alternately and longitudinally in said receiver passing through the feeding station, which bolt holder has a relatively short upper portion connected to the bolt and a lower portion relatively long arranged below the bolt, exceeding the length of the lower portion of the bolt support run, (e) a cam extending the entire length of the lower portion of the bolt support, (f) fixed ammunition feeding means to the receiver and provided with a cam follower that cooperates with the bolt support cam to carry ammunition to the ali station ment, (g) return device arranged below the tube and in front of the support-bolt, functionally coupled between the tube and the receiver to dampen the forces of recoil and counter-retraction, said return device being aligned with the lower portion of the bolt support and responding to backlash of the tube to engage the front end of the lower portion of the bolt support to accelerate it in its recoil with respect to the tube, and (h) a shock absorber assembly mounted on the rear of the receiver in alignment with the bolt and engageable to the back of the upper portion of the support thereof to dampen the recoil force of the bolt and its support.
