Abstract

To remove the electromagnet from housing A, an assembly of a guide G and slide H carrying moving contacts K 1 and K 2 must first be removed by raising it by means of a bracket 51a. The assembly G, H is inserted between side walls of the housing A which carry the fixed contacts. The contact arrangement is of the type disclosed in Specification 969,841. The lower part of the housing A is of cross-shaped section with armature C 2 and yoke C 1 mounted in one limb of the cross and the flat coil B urged by a spring 12 against the walls of the perpendicular limb of the cross. The armature C 2 is pivoted in a plastics shoe 25 attached to the yoke and biased by a spring 29 acting between the shoe and a pivotal extension 28 of the armature. The relay shown has normally open and normally closed contact sets K 1 and K 2 . To ensure that the assembly G, H can be inserted into and removed from housing A without the moving contact of the normally closed set K 2 fouling the fixed contacts the member 35 transmitting motion to the slide H is shaped and co-operates with shaped portions, e.g. 49 of the slide to move it to the left on insertion or withdrawal.
