Abstract
1,167,022. Post Office relays. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 20 June, 1967 [23 June, 1966], No. 28065/66. Heading H1N. An electromagnetic relay has a stack of contact spring arms 6A, 6B extending from a supporting block 1 of insulators 5, the "fixed" contact springs 6B being engaged by the ends of respective stops 7 each mounted between cooperating fixed and movable contacts and secured to its respective fixed contact 6B at a point 13 spaced from the side of the supporting block. The stop 7 and contact spring 6B may be secured together by welding or riveting. The fixed contacts may be adjusted by bending the members 7 and 6B to the left of the point 13 without affecting the spring bias of arms 6B against stop 7. A standard operating card 10 may, during manufacture, have appropriate side arms "cropped off" to suit the contact sets being provided on the relay.
