Abstract
1,049,466. Contact members for switches; electromagnetic relays. SQUARE D. CO. June 2, 1964 [June 3, 1963], No. 22697/64. Heading H2B. A bridging contact for an electromagnetic relay comprises two parallel members 20, 21 having a common spring 15 urging them against a fulcrum about which the members are rockable independently, the contact being accommodated in a passage 2 (Fig. 2, not shown) of a support 1 carrying the fulcrum 17a provided by a cross-bar 17 (Figs. 3, 4, not shown). A frame member 6 carrying the contact is rotatable through 180 degrees about cross-bar 17 so that the contact is either a normally open or a normally closed movable bridging contact, this feature and the other features of the relay incorporating the contact being similar to those of Specification 1,021,152. The movable contact support 1 is moved electromagnetically to open or close the contacts.
