Faro, destinado particularmente a un vehículo automóvil, del tipo que comprende: - una caja (1) de material moldeado, que presenta una cara anterior (19) de emisión de luz bordeada por una garganta periférica (36) abierta hacia el exterior de la caja (1) en el sentido de emisión (11), la cual garganta (36) está delimitada en particular por un flanco (24) y por un flanco interior (35). - un cristal transparente 20 que cierra la anterior (19) de la caja (1) y que presenta un borde periférica un cordón (38) de solidarización mútua de cristal (20) y de la caja (1) y de estanqueización entre ellos, que empotra el borde periférico (37) del cristal (20) en la garganta (36) de la caja (1), caracterizado porque el flanco interior (35) de la garganta (36) está definido por una corona (33) encajada en el interior de la caja (1), y porque el flanco exterior (24) de la garganta (36) está definido por una zona de la cara interior (26) de la caja (1) próxima a la cara anterior (19) de ésta, la cual zona(24) está desplazada hacia el exterior con respecto a las zonas de esta cara interior (26) próximas, y unida a estas últimas por una cara anular (23) en desenganchado que define un tope, hacia el interior de la caja (1), para la corona (33).
