Abstract

Compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0945893/C2/1> (wherein R represents a straight chain C1-5 alkyl radical) are prepared by hydrolysing compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0945893/C2/2> in an aqueous hydrobromic acid solution containing about 35-55% by weight of HBr at a temperature in the range from about 90 DEG C. to reflux temperature, and neutralizing the resulting product. Specifications 936,074 and 945,892 are referred to.
