1,238,158. 3-Carbamoyl-2,1-benzoxathian- 1,1-dioxide. ARZNEIMITTELWERK DRESDEN VEB. 18 March, 1970, No. 13068/70. Heading C2C. Novel compounds of the formula wherein R 1 and R 2 denote the same or different C 1-5 alkyl groups, and R 3 is H or a C 1-5 alkyl group, are obtained by reacting a compound of the formula wherein R 4 is a -CN or -CONH 2 group, with concentrated sulphuric acid, preferably at ambient temperature. The products, in treatment of animals, show anti-convulsive properties against cramps induced by strychnine or cardiazole.
