Abstract

Polyolefine fibres or films are dyed with an anthraquinone dyestuff which contains in at least one of the a -positions a cycloalkylamino group or an alkylamino group the alkyl radical of which contains 2-18 carbon atoms. The anthraquinone nucleus may also contain other substituents such as halogen atoms or alkyl, -OH, -OR, -O(CH2-CH2-O)n R, -SR, -SO2R, -CN, -CONH2, -NH2 or -NHR groups, wherein R is an alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl group containing not more than 10 carbon atoms and n is an integer of 1-6. Dyeing is effected from an aqueous bath at temperatures up to or above 100 DEG C. Numerous examples are given, and numerous dyestuffs are specified.
