Abstract

Nuevo procedimiento para la obtención de una pigmento de metaborato de bario recubierto con sílice, caracterizado porque se mezcla un medio acuoso partículas de metaborato de bario con un silicato elegido de entre el grupo que comprende silicatos líquidos de metales alcalinos, que tienen una relación ponderal de sílice a metal alcalino calculado como óxido de metal alcalino entre 2,50 : 1 y 4,10 : 1, y proporciones desionizadas de tales silicatos de metales alcalinos, el silicato en una proporción calculada como sílice entre aproximadamente un 3 y aproximadamente un 25% ponderal del metaborato de bario, calentándose dicha mezcla a una temperatura de por lo menos 75º C y separando seguidamente el producto sólido en forma de partículas a partir del medio acuoso, y secarlo.
