Abstract
Uso de un dispositivo de purificación de gases de escape de motor de combustión interna en el que se dispone un catalizador de reducción selectiva de tipo de adsorción de urea en un conducto de escape de motor y se alimenta urea a los gases de escape que fluyen al interior del catalizador de reducción selectiva de modo que se reduce el NOx contenido en los gases de escape en el catalizador de reducción selectiva, en el que un catalizador de adsorción de HC para adsorber el HC en los gases de escape se dispone en el conducto de escape de motor aguas arriba del catalizador de reducción selectiva de modo que se suprime la generación de cianuro de hidrógeno, caracterizado porque el dispositivo de purificación de gases de escape se usa en un método en el que se suprime una tasa de desorción de HC de dicho catalizador de adsorción de HC de modo que una concentración de cianuro de hidrógeno en los gases de escape que fluyen saliendo de dicho catalizador de reducción selectiva se vuelve menor que un valor de referencia predeterminado, en el que como cantidad de adsorción de HC que puede adsorber dicho catalizador de adsorción de HC se halla de antemano una cantidad de adsorción de HC permisible cuando la concentración de cianuro de hidrógeno en los gases de escape que fluyen saliendo de dicho catalizador de reducción selectiva se vuelve menor que dicho valor de referencia cuando se hace que se desorba HC del catalizador de adsorción de HC, y se realiza una acción de aumento de temperatura del catalizador de adsorción de HC lo que hace que se desorba HC del catalizador de adsorción de HC cuando la cantidad de adsorción de HC en el catalizador de adsorción de HC es menor que la cantidad de adsorción de HC permisible
