An air conditioning system for multi-room building structures, comprising: means for conditioning primary air for supply to a variety of conditioned areas; a diversity of local units disposed in the zones; means for supplying primary air to local units, including a fan; as a minimum, a pipe that extends perpendicular to the structure; and at least one connecting outlet conduit from a local unit to the vertical pipe; each local unit comprising a base unit having a plenum, which plenum contains two separate chambers; means for the passage of treated air from a chamber to the second chamber; means for regulating the passage of air from the first chamber to the second chamber to maintain substantially a desired pressure within the second chamber; said first chamber being connected to the outlet conduit; air discharge means connected to the second chamber; a heat exchanger; inducing the discharge of primary air through the discharge device a secondary air stream coming from the zone which is conditioned to pass through the heat exchanger and mixed with the primary air discharged from the second chamber; and means of discharge of the mixture of primary and secondary air in the area that is conditioned; means for treating a heat exchange medium, for supply to the heat exchangers of the units; means for supplying the medium to the heat exchanger and returning the medium from the heat exchangers to the supply device, characterized by a connecting conduit of the first chamber of the first unit with the first chamber of a second unit, thereby it can supply primary air from the first chamber of the first unit to the first chamber of the second unit without interfering with the air ratio of the first unit.
