LA INVENCION SE REFIERE A UN PROCEDIMIENTO MEJORADO PARA LA PRODUCCION CONTINUA DE POLI(VINIL ALCOHOL), QUE IMPLICA LA PURIFICACION DE UNA PASTA DE POLI(VINIL ACETATO) QUE SALE DE UN REACTOR DE POLIMERIZACION, Y LA DISOLUCION DEL POLI(VINIL ACETATO) PRACTICAMENTE PURO EN UN DISOLVENTE HIDROLITICO QUE CONTIENE ALCOHOL, PARA SU POSTERIOR SAPONIFICACION, PRODUCIENDO POLI(VINIL ALCOHOL). LA PASTA DE POLI(VINIL ACETATO) QUE CONTIENE POLI(VINIL ACETATO), VINIL ACETATO Y DISOLVENTE, SE CALIENTA HASTA UNA TEMPERATURA SUPERIOR A LA TEMPERATURA DE TRANSICION VITREA, PERO INFERIOR A UNA TEMPERATURA DE DEGRADACION DEL POLI(VINIL ACETATO), Y SE ALIMENTA A UN AREA DE VAPORIZACION INSTANTANEA DE UN DISPOSITIVO EXTRUSOR DE DESVOLATILIZACION. EL VINIL ACETATO Y EL DISOLVENTE SE VAPORIZAN A TRAVES DE ABERTURAS DE VENTILACION EN LA ZONA DE VAPORIZACION DEL DISPOSITIVO DE DESVOLATILIZACION Y SE PUEDEN RECICLAR A CONTINUACION HACIA UN REACTOR DE POLIMERIZACION, SI SE DESEA. SE CONDUCE UNA MEZCLA PRACTICAMENTE PURA DE FUNDENTE DE POLI(VINIL ACETATO) QUE SALE DEL AREA DE VAPORIZACION, HACIA EL AREA DE MEZCLA DEL DISPOSITIVO DE DESVOLATILIZACION, DONDE SE MEZCLA CON UN DISOLVENTE QUE CONTIENE UN ALCOHOL HIDROLITICO, PARA FORMAR UNA DISOLUCION DESTINADA A UNA TRANSFORMACION ULTERIOR EN UNA UNIDAD DE SAPONIFICACION.
